In December 2007, OFSTED said,'This is an outstanding school. Parents feel that the headteacher and staff do a great job'. We want all our children to fulfil their potential, both academically and socially. Newdale children should achieve well in a literate, numerate, computer (ICT)-rich society, with a sense of individual responsibility to the community, an appreciation of creative and spiritual values, being physically fit and emotionally secure.

The years your child will spend in school are a small part of the time in which it is hoped these long term aims will be achieved. However, it is with these aims in mind that we seek to provide a happy and secure environment in which children will grow intellectually, morally, spiritually, creatively, physically and emotionally to become well rounded members of the community. The happy and secure environment we seek to achieve is dependent upon the confidence of the children, which grows in an atmosphere of mutual trust, consideration and care. 'Children are confident, outgoing and welcoming'. (OFSTED, 2007)

Positive attitudes towards school and learning are crucial and we encourage good relationships between parents / carers and school. Parental interest, support and co-operation are vital to all we achieve at Newdale. OFSTED reported that one of the key strengths of the school is the exceptional care and support it provides for each individual and their family.

History

Our school catchment area covers Newdale, The Rock and Overdale, a growing area of established and new / planned housing and is being built in phases. The building of the SureStarters Nursery and seven classrooms with community Lifelong Learning facilities, as part of a campus including a 3 months plus baby nursery (opened April 2003).

The building of five extra classrooms, new, purpose built Foundation Stage outdoor play area, additional playground space, office and car parking, was completed by September 2006.
